Dr Patricia Worby

Nineties Nurture Hour

Dr Patricia Worby (PhD*), is a psychotherapist, educator and author who loves music.

She bought her first record at 5** with her pocket money and her first album at 8*** developing a passion for innovative bands of the indie/alternative scene of the 80s. Whilst at University she set up a mobile disco to cater to the emerging underground gay scene, and the passion for DJing was ignited running a number of regular club nights and events around Southampton as Euphoria Disco.

During her 30s (1990s) she got into clubbing (a bit late!) and enjoyed the burgeoning house music and trance scenes – dancing to this kind of music made her feel alive and connected, in ways that she only now understands. She then began to avidly collect dance music CDs and has a huge collection which she uses to inform her radio playlist (now all digital of course).

A chance encounter with Roy (of Royzee’s Pick n Mix show) introduced her to Fiesta FM and she proposed a show which combined 90s music and natural health – the Nineties Nurture Hour was born.

After her experience of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME) and finding that conventional medicine had very little to offer, she retrained as a therapist specializing in nervous system rebalancing and trauma release.  She is now a passionate advocate of natural health and healing, the author of 6 books on natural medicine and psychology.

The show combines great dance music from late 80s/90s/early 2000s and short segments about how to keep yourself healthy naturally with nutrition, bodywork, somatic release and nervous system regulation. The body is a system of amazing complexity, and her aim is to distill this into understanding for people helping them to live better, healthier, longer lives. There are different themes each week and occasional guest slots where she interviews other mindbody practitioners to open up the conversation about all the things you can do to heal yourself.

She can be found at alchemytherapies.co.uk (therapy, courses and group programmes) and patriciaworby.com (books and education).

*PhD in Clinical and Medical Hypnosis obtained for the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine, 2016.

70's 80's 90's Floor Fillers & Monday, tuesday drive time show

My love of music started at a very young age, with my first record player and album. When I got into my early teens, I learnt and played the drums until the late 70s. When I started to help a friend with DJing, I was hooked. The drums got sold and disco equipment was bought, and I have never looked back.

In the mid 80s I joined Southampton hospital radio. Unfortunately, I had to give up the radio owing to work commitments.

Over the years I've worked in a lot of top venues along with an array of celebrities, and I still have a great passion for what I do.  I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to join Fiesta 95 FM, doing my own show every Tuesday as well as now being part of The Drive Time Show Team.

wEDNESDAY DRIVE TIME

Hello,

I started out DJing in a local youth club many years ago then as time moved on so did I.

I then moved onto mobile DJing around the local area which included pubs clubs and private functions then I changed to radio, as a volunteer at Radio Lollipop which is a charity based Children's radio station at Southampton general hospital which was a lot of fun!

I then progressed on to Southampton hospital radio doing a request program aimed at children in hospital I learnt a lot from doing that.

Heart & Soul Show

I started seriously buying music in around 1970 which would mainly be Soul & Reggae! Then Jazz Funk came along which eventually got me into my love of jazz!

I held my first DJ gig at the 5th year unit at school and have been regularly playing at events in and around the Southampton and surrounding areas ever since!

First got into radio in the late 90's with  short stints on Radio Victory (producing and compiling shows) and co presenting on Vibe FM! Been presenting a regular soul show on an Internet station since 2013 and also loads of jazz shows!

ROYZEE PIC 'N' MIX

With a lifelong interest in comedy I mix a very varied playlist of cracking music with regular comedy clips. I have features such as The Bad Boy B side, tracks from a parent performer and their son or daughter in The Parent and Child Reunion. I have 3 ballads back to back with no talking in The Mellow Minutes as well.  Every week we also have 3 songs from a chosen Rock Legend.

So tune in 10:30am every Saturday for 2 hours of great comedy and music. As Del Boy would say “You know it makes sense”

Timmy taylor

Fiesta Morning Magic

Timmy’s love of music started when he was really young. He still remembers sitting in the dark with his dad on Sunday evenings, listening to the charts when he was just ten years old. His DJ journey began back in 1990 with small gigs for friends and family. After someone once told him he’d never amount to anything, he took that as a challenge! One of his first paid gigs was at the Anchor and Hope pub in Shirley for a birthday party; but no one showed up. That didn’t stop him though and he played to an empty pub using Fal turntables, a tape deck, and a Marantz amp with Wharfedale speakers borrowed from his big brother, Mark.

Away from the decks, Timmy’s other big passion is magic. Over the years, he’s had the honour of being president of the Southampton, Winchester, and now Portsmouth Magic Clubs, and since 2018 he’s been a proud member of the world-famous London Magic Circle.

Timmy loves radio because it brings people together. He can’t pick a single favourite genre — he just loves any music that makes people happy. Fiesta Radio, with its fantastic community spirit and feel-good vibe, is the perfect place for him, and he’s proud to be part of such a brilliant family of entertainers.

When he’s not on air, you’ll usually find Timmy performing at gigs or magic shows most weekends. But every weekday morning from 6:00 to 8:00, he’s here to get your day started with great music, good vibes, and plenty of laughs. So tune in, send him a message on WhatsApp, and be part of the show!
